If you still have opening, May I sign up for these positions?
Line Control
Badge Checker
I do not mind if you have to move me around.
I have worked Line control before for this con last year. I had so much fun. I am wishing to be able to make it in this year too.

I was just wondering if being Staff/Volunteer got you anything like half off or free Con admission (if anything). I only ask cause I was a walk in volunteer at last years Con and stood in the same spot for 7 hours before they let me leave on Friday. After that, it seemed I was just forgot about. It really made me not care to volunteer ever again, even though I did end up doing it for another hour or 2 on Sunday.
I did not mind volunteering cause it did help the Con, I just felt like I was cheated out last year for paying for my weekend ticket and then not being able to experience the Con how I somewhat wanted to because I wanted to help out.
I have military background, so if you still need any security at all, I would be glad to be one. If not, then I would be happy to just be a badge checker or w/e it is that is still required.

@Shimanishiki sorry for the delay in answering, I've been roaming around the Southwest for the past few days. :3 We certainly will have positions and openings for those, so stay tuned. If you want you can email volunteer@sabotencon.com with your email and we'll contact you when we have more details.
@Kemosabe most staff members have free admission. If you're a regular volunteer, you will get a discounted rate and if you work enough hours (which is generally 12) you'll get the discounted rate refunded back to you after you work your shifts. If you sign up as a volunteer before the convention you will be able to choose shifts and times for volunteering, depending upon availability. I'm sorry about your experience last year; I'm sure things were hectic, especially on a walkin basis, but we appreciate the help, and I hope you come back and volunteer for us again! I think you'll find registering beforehand helps a lot, and that way you know when you're working and for how long, and there's not so much confusion.
If you'd like to see about joining our security team, you can email security@con-nichiwa.com. If that doesn't work out, we would definitely like your help with any of our other volunteer shifts.

Thanks so much. I didn't mind volunteering at all, it was just the fact that I wasn't told about a discount rate or anything and just felt like I was being used and thrown away. I did get the cool shirt after my Sunday shift though so I guess that was ok

I would be interested in volunteering to do either badge checking, line control, or both.

people love the shirts, it's why we volunteer.
Just a reminder that aside form posting here the email address, volunteer@sabotencon.com will get your questions answered. But please ask here first if it is a [seemingly] simple question.

Well, I haven't gotten any word back after e-mailing about security so I am just guessing they are filled. If that is true I will just volunteer/staff here. I would be happy to be a line control/badge checker since that is what I did last year, but I would also like to know what the 2 staff positions do. I would like to be a staff member over the 2 volunteer positions I said, but don't want to say I WILL do it without knowing what it involves.

I am hoping to go for security.
I am emailing the person about it, using the email you posted on here.
